Adhur Narseh

Adhur Narseh ((ペルシア語:آذرنرسه)) was the son of Hormizd II and the ninth king of the Sasanian Empire. Following his father's death, the nobles and Zoroastrian clergy saw an opportunity to gain influence within the Sasanian Empire. Thus, they murdered Adur Narseh, blinded one of his brothers and forced another brother to flee.〔Parvaneh Pourshariati, ''Decline of the Sasanian Empire'', (I.B.Tauris, 2008), 56.〕 Another source states that he ruled several months before being killed because he was a tyrant.〔''ĀDUR NARSEH'', A. Tafażżolī, Encyclopaedia Iranica, (July 22, 2011).()〕 He was succeeded by his unborn brother Shapur II.〔''ĀDUR NARSEH'', A. Tafażżolī, Encyclopaedia Iranica.〕
